In 2003 I had the rare opportunity to collect in the Two Medicine Formation of Northwestern MT outside the city of Browning. It was only the second year I ever collected dinosaur fossils and was still a novice but had great luck. At this time I was only 15 years old and was with my mom (who drove me and also loves fossils). This ranch was apparently adjacent to the famous "Egg Mountain" site that Jack Horner got famous from which made sense because there was eggshell almost everywhere you looked! It was truly amazing. Looking back on this experience it is mind-blowing to think about how much eggshell was present. It was more common than turtle shell is in the Hell Creek Formation! Ankylosaur teeth were also fairly common as well as Einiosaurus material.
In the photos you will see pictures of us collecting in the formation as well as a large section of Einiosaurus frill I found. The best of the photos is of a huge black Daspletosaurus tooth we found at a sort of microsite. You can see still the tooth covered in sediment as it was found! The pictures are digital photos taken of print-outs that have been in a photo album for years.
