SOLD Excellent Theropod Limb Bone Femur Dinosaur Fossil Cretaceous Northern Africa
This listing is for a partial small theropod dinosaur femur from the Cretaceous of Northern Africa. Bones of this quality from this formation are hard to come by and based on the internal texture it is from a small meat eating dinosaur (the bone is hollow on the inside). It is hard to ID the exact genus but it could be from a small Carcharodontosaurus, Deltadromeus or a small theropod not yet described from this formation!
The bone measures over 6 inches in length and looks to be the proximal end of a small theropod dinosaur. I have a 6' replica Velociraptor skeleton at my house and this bone matches up almost perfectly with it's femur in size meaning this bone likely came from a small theropod which stood about 2.5 feet tall and 6 feet in length.
The tooth was found outside the city of Taouz Morocco along a cliff facing which separates Morocco from Algeria. This area is known as the Kem Kem Beds and dates back to the Cretaceous Period about 95 million years in age. The amazing thing is that this area used to be a lush tropical environment full of life. All of the waterways and river systems created a perfect environment for teeth, claws and bones to become fossilized.
The fossil comes with a COA upon request. Please email me with any questions!
