Huge Rare Machairodus Sabertooth Tiger Skull Fossil
This listing is for an extremely rare and large Sabertooth Cat skull of the genus Machairodus. It was found outside of Gansu, China and was part of an old collection exported prior to the ban.
I purchased this fossil from an international seller and it was poorly packaged and unfortunately broke while in transit. I pieced some of it back together but there is still some work to be done. This would be a great prep project for someone to restore this skull to its original condition. The last picture shows what the skull used to look like.
There are still pieces of jaw and large teeth that go together in the ziploc bags that are included with the skull. I can send all the original pictures of the skull I have to help with the restoration process after the skull sells. Or if a potential buyer wants to see more pictures of the skull in its original condition I can send them through ebay messages upon request.
The best part of this skull is the large complete original saber with no repair or restoration going into the skull. It will be shipped separately from the skull but can easily be glued and attached. The other parts of the jaw that cover the root of the tooth should still be in the bag of other parts included in the listing.
The saber measures a huge 4" in a straight line sticking out from the skull.
