Up for sale is a museum quality Carcharodontosaurus dinosaur tooth from the Kem Kem Beds of Eastern Morocco. This tooth has amazing deep orange enamel with excellent surface quality and serrations. The enamel and serrations are essentially perfect with the exception of one small section of enamel missing on one side. The tooth measures a touch under 2 3/4" in length and comes with its own riker mount display case.
Carcharodontosaurus is often referred to as the "African T Rex" for good reason. While it was not a Tyrannosaur and was only distantly related to Tyrannosaurus Rex, Carcharodontosaurus outgrew T Rex in skull length as well as overall length. This predator was truly larger than Tyrannosaurus Rex! This tooth is an excellent example from this species and would make a great addition to any collection. It would be hard to find one better than this for this price.
This is not a typical tooth you see for sale online. This is as good as Carcharodontosaurus teeth get as far as preservation and quality. There is absolutely no repair or restoration done to this tooth!
The tooth was found outside the city of Taouz Morocco along a cliff facing which separates Morocco from Algeria. This area is known as the Kem Kem Beds and dates back to the Cretaceous Period about 95 million years in age. The amazing thing is that this area used to be a lush tropical environment full of life. All of the waterways and river systems created a perfect environment for teeth, claws and bones to become fossilized.
This tooth was excellently preserved and now comes with its own riker mount so you can display it in your collection.
